Here's what we were working with - an aging A.O. Smith unit that had run its course. The homeowner was dealing with inconsistent hot water, and honestly, that's one of those problems that sneaks up on you. One day the showers are fine, the next you're turning the dial all the way up just to get lukewarm.
We swapped it out for a Rheem Classic Series Professional unit. It's a solid, reliable gas water heater - the kind that handles a full household without breaking a sweat. Part of doing this install right meant adding a thermal expansion tank up top, which a lot of plumbers skip. That little tank protects your system from pressure buildup and keeps the whole setup running safely for years.
The space itself was tight. Tucked in next to HVAC ductwork with not a lot of room to work. That's pretty common in Utah County homes, and it's exactly the kind of situation where cutting corners is tempting. We don't do that. Every connection - gas, water, venting - was done clean and up to code.
Water heater installations aren't all created equal. The brand matters, the sizing matters, and so does everything that gets connected to it. We take the time to do it right the first time so you're not calling us back in six months with a leak or a pressure problem.
